Well she did actually answer one. Did she know that refusing to answer the questions would jjeapodise the search for Maddie, and she replied yes!!!
What mother does that?

Because there is something to hide. Apart from anything else, WHO would leave their kids alone in an apartment while they went out? And these are professional people, who who glady help social services nail YOU, but can do as they wish.

Def something wrong here, and one day it will all come out.

As a parent, you would do ANYTHING to help in the search for your child.AND you would be showing emotion at the press release, no matter who you were, you just couldnt hold it in.

Sorry, but I think they are as guilty as hell.

i think of those mothers and fathers are at ultimate incompetent, selfish nitwits. No be certain is going off to have dinner and leaves 3 toddlers unattended. If the on an popular basis Mail's tale is genuine, and the mothers and fathers left a door unlocked "in case of hearth" - what contained in the h*ll have been they thinking? The twins have been too youthful to get out without person help. Madeleine replaced into sufficiently previous to bodily propel herself from the place of abode yet replaced into under no circumstances sufficiently previous to appreciate while some thing replaced right into a threat and she or he could get out. it is likewise been pronounced in assorted sources from the very initiating that the mothers and fathers have stonewalled investigators better than they have helped. relatively is mindless. At ultimate incompetent, selfish nitwits. At worst .... i'm beneficial all of us have our suspicions.

Both Kate and Gerry had every right to remain silent as they both had already been made suspects. Questions can be intimading to the point of torture, a fact well known in Portugual as it happened to the mother of a missing Portuguese child previously. I have no doubt that both McCanns were aware of this so rightly choose to remain silent. I would have done exactly the same seeing as they were both questioned for 11 hours.Releasing both McCanns as suspects proves beyond doubt that the police were wrong.

She knew at that point she was being framed.Had she continued answering the investigation into her daughters disappearance would have ended. Not the way you are twisting it.

So you would have answered I take it and risked being charged with something you didn't do and your daughter would have still been missing with the search wound up.

Common sense told her she needed to stop that nonsense in its track.

Shambo's answer shows exactly how the Portuguese Police persuaded the public to bay for the blood of the McCanns and never before have two innocent people had to endure such base hatred and unjustified vilification when in fact they are going through such a sad and desperate time.People have willfully neglected and beaten, starved and mentally tormented their children and yet the McCanns have a level of hatred directed towards them that is shameful by comparison. Not only shameful but perverse.I can only assume these people get some kind of perverse pleasure from it.If they were truly interested in injustice against children then the celebrity factor wouldn't enter in to it.They'd concentrate on the far more horrendous cases of abuse and murder that are all too common.

some people are so stupid they will still stand up for them when they admit it blaming their jobs post natal depression the IVF and of course the portugese police for not preventing it

why do so few people care about a missing child and are determined the truth remains a mystery

Why would anyone want to know why a person wouldn't answer questions?

Do you feel that you have a right to know (a) why she didn't answer and (b) what she would have said if she did answer?

Bumble is the only member who has made any sense on this thread!

When will you nosey braindeads realise that NO ONE HAS TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION!

Kate is a spiteful cold heart b tch. What mother refuses to answer questions to help find her poor neglected daughter and even acknowledges that she her refusal will NOT help the search!?!?! And McFann scum STILL defend her. It's pathetic.

DIRTY F CKING SLAG SHOULD ROT IN HELL FOR WHAT SHE DONE TO MADDY.

There're some self-righteous ba*tards on here sometimes. I guess being asked if you'd murdered your missing daughter might help. Furthermore, legal advice would dictate the same silence. In USA, it's called taking the 5th and it's there to protect the innocent as well as the guilty. Nobody knows what happened and should shut the f*ck up. If the case is solved a lot of people will feel disgusted with their comments. Shameful.

She didn't because the Portugese police were asking her leading questions.

If evidence is gathered from such questions by police in the UK then this would not be accepted in court, but I do not know about Portugal, do you? Would you have taken the chance and risk being framed for a crime you didn't commit?

Her lawyer correctly told her not to answer. I would do what my lawyer advised me in such a situation, wouldn't you?

All they seem to be interested in is clearing their names - if my child had gone "missing" I would not sleep until I had left "no stone unturned".

Kate McCann's precise answer to the Q why she does not answer the 48 questions, answers it all.

IF the investigation thinks, WRONGLY, that she had harmed her child & was doing all it could to push the investigation down that path, the best thing she could do for her Madeleine was to jeopardise such an investigation, by not answering such questions. It makes perfect sense. For if, such an investigation succeeded, by twisting & misinterpreting her replies to those 48 rhetorical questions, in doing what it set out to do - to find Kate & Gerry guilty of harming their Madeleine, they would have been charged & arrested by now. And who then would search for their Madeleine???

With the gullible public believing that Madeleine is no more, murdered by her parents who the court has found guilty, the case would be closed & she would be deemed as no more. Of what good would Kate be to her Madeleine then???

Kate McCann did the right thing. At risk to her reputation but for the love of her child.

Think about it people. Think laterally. What would YOU do, if God forbid, you were in her place??

If you knew you were innocent of harming your child but if the investigating authorities were bent on accusing & charging you. They had already issued her a deal to admit that she had accidently harmed Madeleine, so she knew fully well where they were coming from. Imagine the choice she had to make...in a foreign country, her mind a traumatic mess filled with thoughts of her beloved missing child, faced with accusations that she harmed that child, then faced with a deal to confess to a crime she did not commit... the foremost thought in her mind would have been that these people are wasting time, precious time, barking up the wrong tree, when they could be searching for Madeleine. Naturally she would want to stop them in their tracks... especially since they are on the wrong track.

Anyone would. Wouldn't you???

As much as it is the right thing to do, to co-operate with the authorities, when you know in your heart & soul, that the investigation is misguided, no sane person, in search of justice, would help such an investigation...especially when one's own child's life is at stake.

Which explains why Madeleine's Mum, Kate McCann rightly refused to answer those 48 questions, not just to prevent a miscarriage of justice against herself but also to set the investigation on its right path...to find her missing Madeleine.

Because the assumption behind it was that she had something to do with the disappearance of her daughter, and she knew it wasn't so.

A "Guilty" mother would do that.......She and Gerry are ultimately responsible for the lack of searching, they have done nothing but hinder every aspect of the case.

Report monkeys get on with it...push the button.

edit: Come on Bumble don't back out, it's easy to say that and try to sound intelligent, give your answer and we will be the judge!....come on....

I was going to answer this question with a degree of logic and neutrality-but having seen the level of the other answers, I don't think I'll bother.
