McCanns: Kate McCann admits that the Portuguese Police investigation into the McCanns was right ?

We read that Kate McCann states that she accepts that the police were right to investigate her and Gerry over the disappearance of their daughter.

If she, and presumably Gerry, accept that. Then why did she and Gerry both refuse to answer any of the questions put to them by the Police, other than name, rank (doctors) and serial number (McFund sort code) ?

Here is a play (fiction) of what could have happened that gave origin to that news article.

Gerry: "Inspector Amaral ?"

Amaral: "Yes... who's this ?"

Gerry: "It's Gerry... you remember ?!!!"

Amaral: "What do you want ?"

Gerry: "Look... we do not stand a chance in hell of winning a civil action against you especially because you have those two or three pieces of info. you're keeping to yourself should we one day decide to sue you."

Amaral: "Yes ??..... And... ???"

Gerry: "What if we started, little by little, admitting that you you were right all along ? -- Would that change anything ?!"

Amaral: "Well, it certainly would help.... Start to declare publicly that I was right in pursuing my line of enquiry and we will see !"

Gerry: "That's great news, Inspector... Speak to you soon !"

Gerry: " Kate.... Kate.... KATE ! Phone that newspaper and call one of their reporters to our house."



This could be what gave origin to Kate's remark !

what did kate and gerry expect , portugal do not have a high crime rate and the mc canns were never willing to fund any kind of search themselves or fund any Police activity

the police did all they could for madeline shame the parents couldn't do the same

The articles clearly states "Madeleine's mum said she "appreciated" the need to explore all lines of inquiry.However, she appealed for police to treat the parents of missing children with sensitivity."



She goes on to state that, "I appreciate now that families need to be investigated in these cases, and we've certainly had that. But it is vital the family is listened to."



The McCanns announced at the weekend that they were taking action over comments alleging they were involved in Madeleine's disappearance.

Mr McCann: "We want to make it clear the reason we're taking that action is because we feel what he has been saying is very much detrimental to the search.



"The main tenet of what he has been saying is Madeleine is dead.

"If people believe that, there can't be an ongoing search."



AND THAT 17pdr is the crux of it all....insinuating & accusing Madeleine's parents of her murder did nothing but give the real abductor a place to hide.
