Question:
Why is the name 'Stephen Fry' and the word 'Twitter' almost inseparable?

Every time I read or hear a story about Mr. Fry, Twitter tends to pop up frequently (and vice versa) - why is this? If I had spent years in a secret bunker used by Americans for people with 'Muhammed' in their names, or spent months in space (or Wormwood Scrubs), and had read the first newspapers, would think Mr. Fry was actually the owner of said micro-blogging service...if this goes on, I might forget how good an actor he once was. Is his continuous yearning to be on Twitter a sign of 52 year old Mr. Fry wanting to '...still keep it real with the crew'?

Hello Arthur - I think it is a combination, as Hypocrite says, of Mr. Fry finding something that suits his nature. His wit and verbosity are admittedly tailor-made for a micro-blogging site. Also, as much as I like him, Mr. Fry is something of an egomaniac and will no doubt love the adulation he receives (900,000 or so regular followers I believe?)

It also just happens he was in the right place at the right time. Before Mr. Fry really got his teeth into it, we had 'twitters' on what Lily Allen had for dinner or what Kate Perry could do with a whisk. Mr. Fry has at least injected a soupçon of intelligence into a cauldron of stupidity.

That said, I would rather volunteer my testicles to Hannibal Lecter than embrace that moronic website.

Twitter's for whimps. I'd like to see him try and cut it at Y!A CurrentEvents.

then we'd see how much wit and verbosity he has.

Hmmm, sounds a bit ageist to me...everytime I've read an article about Mr Fry I've never seen Twitter mentioned once!! One wonders what you've been reading...?

He's probably on twitter, because it suits his flighty mind.
