He was brilliant. I loved the Sopranos and went on a Sopranos tour last time I was in NY and had my pic taken with Vito Spatafori. Had a bag of onion rings at the same table the family sat at in the final scene.

R.I.P. Tony. He was great in True Romance and in the Loop too.

I got a vio for asking the same question btw.

The same as it was when better known actors like Paul Newman died. It was Aw, too bad. See it bothered me a lot more when my mom died or my Dad.They were great people the media paid no attention to, I knew them personally and I loved them and that hurt. When someone famous dies I'll hear about it for days on end but they were no better (or worse) than my mom and dad and I didn't know and love them. So it is a gee that's a shame kind of thing for me.

I feel like I have lost a relative, he was a genuinely nice man and a first rate actor. RIP James Gandolfini, you will be sadly missed by millions.

terribly sad. James was a wonderful actor. the star of the greatest tv show ever. 51 is no age to die.

James was in rome for a bonding holiday with his 13 year old son and today he was meant to be going to a film festival in sicily were he was going to be surprised with a lifetime achievement award. James also leaves behind his wife and their 8 month old daughter..what a loss R.I.P James

It's a shame, he was a very talented actor and 51 is no age to go.

However, he was fat and unhealthy, which meant he had far more chance of having heart problems and dying early as a result. If anything positive comes of his death, it's that more fatties may take a look at themselves and take efforts to eat healthier and exercise more.

R.I.P. James Gandolfini, A great loss to us all.

Ah - another actor who's greatest work was to play someone who, in the real world we would want jailed, hung, drawn or quartered - and even sociologically cryptic even for those in the know, he sometimes had issues which had him in tears, especially the surreal relationship with his ducks in the back yard. Riposa in pace...

He was a very good actor - his TV series was excellent.!!

JG was always carrying 'too much weight' - although a big framed man - his added weight did him no favours....excessive weight carrying is a 'heart attack' waiting too happen.

When we see these fatties walking around when out and about - and think of the small size of their heart....the strain must be enormous.

Really sad news for he was a good actor. He looked unfit and paid the price.

Quick and sudden. The best way to die. Who wants to die in a deathbed after months or years of illness?
