How much will it cost the people of Staines to change the town's name?

Some wise person is fed up with the image that Staines has, so they have come up with the bright idea of changing its name to, wait for it, 'Staines-on-Thames'!

What that will do for the area is anybodies guess, what it will do is cost the community charge payers (rate payers to you and me) a lot of money. But, how much?

Remember, all the road signs, every leaflet, every piece of crested paper used in schools, libraries, social services, council offices etc., etc., every council building will need new signage, and so on and so on.

Nothing else will change in Staines, it will be the same people, the same council, and it just may improve the 'image' of Staines.

Is it worth it? How much would you pay for the name change?

Your thoughts please.

I live next to Staines and visit it most days, Staines on Thames sounds like a boat based porn film.

It is a complete waste of money, they should use the money to actually keep the town clean or at least change the name altogether.

Sigh! what a complete waste of taxpayer's money, and how confusing I used to live down that way, I would probably ignore the road signs and be looking for - Staines!

I would put £10 in if they change the name to Seamen Staines.
Carry On..!

Just add some punctuation, like people do when their surname is Death, so now they insist on being De'ath. It'll becomes St. Aines. Shouldn't cost too much...St. Aines, (Patron Saint of time wasting morons).
