Why do people think that Jordan is Palestine? Jordan was never part of Palestine. It was TransJordan which was located on the East of the Dead Sea. It became part of the Mandate of Palestine when the British divided up the Middle East after the Allies defeated the Ottoman Empire. Palestine was its own separate area. The only reason way some Palestinians live in Jordan is cause they fled Palestine when war began. Then Jordan gained the West Bank after the first war. They then lost it in the six Day War. Israel still occupies this and the Gaza Strip to this day. This makes no sense why people say Jordan is Palestine or Palestine is Jordan. Also I am wondering is it possible for Israel to go back to the original plans for Palestine? Or is it illegal under International law? Also why does Israel clam to want peace with the Palestinians? They keep building settlements in the West Bank and the Golan Heights Doing this is illegal under International Law. Just yesterday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu order the construction of over 1,200 homes in EAST JERUSALEM. East Jerusalem is going to be the future Capital of the Sate of Palestine. It looks like they have no desire to allow a Palestine. If they did want peace they would not be doing things like this to presser the Palestinians. I am not in favor of Hamas at all. Hamas should have not split from the West Bank. They should Unite for the Voting to see if Palestine be comes a Non Member State in the UN. Also why did Obama clam he wants a interdependent Palestine then go veto their bid to become a State. This makes not sense to me. Israel did the same thing to become a state so why did Obama veto? To me no mature what belief you have Israel is for the descendants of Abraham, be Arab or an Israelite. P.S I am not a Muslim or Christian I am Agnostic.

You can't go by past empires - there never was a Palestine. The only thing close is when the Romans renamed Judea to a similar name when the Jews were kicked out referring to the extinct Philistines. It was divided into five satraps during the Ottoman Empire. The reason Jordan is often referred to as Palestine is due to the Palestinian Mandate that Great Britain (GB) acquired after WW-I. It included what is now Israel, the west bank, and all of Jordan. GB created Trans-Jordan for the Hashemites Arabs as a reward for helping them against the Ottoman Turks (ie, there was no Jordan until AFTER the mandate). That was fully 80% of Palestine. Most "Palestinians" in the west bank hold Jordanian citizenship and PLO leaders have stated that once "Palestine" is formed, it will merge with Jordan. However, the Hashemites are already small minority in Jordan and do not want the west bank to join them. 90% of Jordanians are "Palestinian" ethnically and are Arabs racially (the Hashemites were once the ruling class of Arabs until booted by the Saud/Wahhabi coalition that formed Saudi Arabia but are not ethnically Palestinian). Anyway, many say that because, while politically incorrect and not agreeable to "Palestinian" propaganda, it is true.

People who dont want Palestinians to have sovereignty think Palestinians can go back to Jordan where they do not have citizenship. As soon as Israel dumps Netanyahu in the next election they can find a leftist President who honestly wants peace, not expulsion. Hamas split from Fatah because they are two different political factions and Hamas did not know they were being tricked by the Israelis into a blockade when they moved into Gaza.

Getting observer status at the U.N. only gives Palestinians the power to preserve their antiquities in the W. Bank. The Israelis need to end the occupation first. The U.S. has a lot of Christians who do whatever Israel wants. That is why the U.S. blocked the bid for statehood by Palestine. The Israelis want to make a deal first with Palestine before they become a separate independent state, maybe so Israel will have a guarantee that Palestinians wont wage war against Israel.

Whats up, that is probably because of the United international locations field of "Palestine" mandated to British rule 1921 to 1946. For those who appear at the map of that administered subject, you will see that within it Jordan used to be then referred to as Transjordan. This British Mandated subject then known as Palestine, comprised all the subject of what today are: The State of Israel. The Palestinian Territories. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. I'm hoping this helps. Regards, Robert.

"Why do people say Jordan is Palestine?"

Because that's what Jordanians and Palestinians have been claiming for decades:

"We are the Government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine."

-Jordanian Prime Minister Hazza' al-Majali

"Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is only one land, with one history and one and the same fate."

-Prince Hassan of Jordan

"The Palestinians and Jordanians do not belong to different nationalities. They hold the same Jordanian passports, and have the same Jordanian culture."

-Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Sharif

That's confirmed by the so-called "Palestinians" own leadership:

"Jordanians and Palestinians are considered by the PLO as one people."

-Farouk Kaddoumi, Head of the Palestine Liberation Organization's Political Department

"The Palestinian people does not exist. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem.

However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

-Zahir Muhsein, Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee

So do yourself a huge favour: Realize you don't know what you think you know.

And sit down and shut up till you actually get educated on the subject.

It's blatant propaganda; an attempt to denounce and shame the Palestinians.

Palestine is Palestine, Jordan is Jordan.
