Question:
Is Racism Still Alive in Schools?

The title is a bit over the top but over my past 3 years in my college, I've come to notice something. The "random drawings" for housing in the dorms never pair a black and white person as roommate. In my first year, my floor (first floor) was ALL blacks, second floor was ALL whites, third floor was ALL blacks and so on and so forth till the 6th floor. I thought to myself that this was something trivial and nothing to be worried about. In my second year, it was the same thing as well. I'm in my third year and the floors are still segregated. This got me curious and I asked my R.A. how rooms are given out. He told me "To be honest, there is NO random drawing. It is mostly hand picked". This information really disturbs and I don't know what to make of it.

Go to your school paper, the Black Student Union, the Dean's Office, et. I'm disturbed also. There are a lot of 'ism's' out there to take an issue with. They are not fair and should be challenged. I'm surprised no one at your school has hit this one yet. You go! Make a difference. All it takes is one person. Tag. you're it! Good luck.

Racism is alive and everywhere and it's not instigated only by the white people, but through statistics they claim 80% of it is.

If we had no racism, we would not have any civil rights groups forming today or any group to defend their status and their right to equality. Racism, opens doors to such things. So, it's still here, more than ever and some political parties have done great bringing it back in the hearts of many whites. It takes ignorance to create hypocrisy to create racism.

Of course there is still racism in school.

But you have to ask if these students chose to live wirth each other. If blacks want to live with other blacks and whites with other whites, that is their choice. If the college segregated the freshmen roommates who don't have a choice, then it is a problem.

Why does this shock you so much? Do you really know so little about humanity? We're just talking chimps after all. We don't create communities because we've made a moral choice; we form them because we're GENETICALLY PROGRAMED to form tribal units. Our ability to do so is one of our two fundamental survival skills (the other being of course tool-making).

The instinct that leftwing academics misname "racism" should actually be called TRIBALISM, and it should not be repressed because it's normal and natural.

Racism is alive everywhere and it is not necessarily the White people who are instigating racial hatred.
