Hi Canadians,
Do you like the idea of a North American Union. There would be no borders between Canada, the US and Mexico.

Thanks,
Mike Litoris

The North American Union includes Canada,US and Mexico. The answers here can call it conspiracy while the people who study the reality of the world as a whole knows it as truth.

"Canada and Mexico into a single, North American Union. “After America, there is North America,” explained Petraeus, the former U.S. military ..."

I'm British and Canada is part of the commonwealth so I think the majority of Canadians don't want a American Union.

Canadians didn't want to be Americans in 1812 and they don't want to be Americans today.

Canadians have their own charter of rights and freedoms, they would never accept the American constitution and they would never give up their health care.

Canadians and Americans may look similar but they have different political views and very different social views.

So the answer to you question is. There isn't a hope in hell.

Canada would be a very small tail to a large dog if it joined the United States.

Sorry but that's all just crackpot conspiracy theory garbage.

Mexico and the US aren't even kingdoms. Canada is.

Canada's a democratic constitutional monarchy by the democratic choice of Canadians.

That's been the preferred system of governance since the French founded Canada 480 years ago.

Canadians won't throw away nearly 500 years of staunch monarchism.

There's simply no way a North American Union is possible with such radically different political systems.

There's also Canada's Constitution to consider. By law, anything that changes Canada's monarchy requires constitutional amendment. By law, amendments require the unanimous consent of both houses of Canada's Federal Parliament AND the governments of all 10 Canadian Provinces.

That, in turn, requires the consent of the majority of Canada's electorate. And the majority of Canadians don't want to be anything else with anyone else. If they did, they'd immigrate elsewhere like normal people.

There's also the matter of rights. Canada has more Constitutional and other legal rights and freedoms than the USA and Mexican Constitutions grant to US and Mexican citizens.

Some, like the globally accepted right to healthcare, the US stands alone in refusing to grant its people.

Which is another reason why a North American Union is impossible nonsense:

Canadians won't stand to have their rights reduced to US levels. The US won't increase its own to Canadian standards. And nobody in either nation gives a sh*t what the Mexicans think.

And what about language rights? Canada has two official languages, Mexico has one, and the US has none. (The US Government has never passed any official language legislation.)

The US is falling apart economically, politically and societally. It also has the highest national debt of any country in the history of the human race. And the rest of the International Community considers the US to be so out of control that the US was named the greatest threat to world peace.

Mexico, meanwhile, is embroiled in a civil war between drug cartels and the Mexican government.

While the Mexican government's made some progress, there's no clear victory in sight anytime soon.

There's absolutely no benefit to Canada or Canadians to have closer ties with the US or Mexico.

Which is why any talk of North American Unions is an absolute waste of time. Go find a new hobby.

Nope, not in this lifetime, or the next. Canada has zero interest in surrendering it's nationality so we can all be under one big US corporate umbrella.

We have a union but we still have geographic borders. Same with Mexico.

That depends. Will Canadians be making the laws, or will we just inherit your stupid gun "rights" and prison-industrial-complex?
