IS IT JUST ME, OR IS IT PRETTY MESSED UP HOW THEY ARE TREATING THE VICTIMS OF THE RECENT CALIFORNIA FIRES IN CORRELATION TO HOW THEY TREATED KATRINA EVACUEES? I MEAN REALLY, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BESIDES SKIN COLOR AND CLASS STATUS? I GUESS THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD...

Yes they are in California, why wouldn't they get the star treatment... ITS CALIFORNIA, HOLLYWIERD, THE LEFT COAST, and all that... They are stars no matter what the occasion.



Seriously though,

I would say its pretty messed up that people are surprised by whats going on now, after they were told for years that they weren't letting their fires burn correctly to reduce this threat. I also thinks its a miracle that the California Government doesn't learn from prior mistakes, over and over again.

Its california, one of the richest states in the nation. And one of the most important too. Hollywood, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Jose, San Fransciso and Anaheim. Yes, they got star treatment over LA which only has New Orleans...and thats about it. Its wrong, but its American politics, strategy and business. When it comes down to saving things. The USA will get off its kiester and save what's really important, and let the rest get caught in a deluge of water.

Yeah I know us "rich white people dont deserve help" (by the way were not all rich and were not all white) and there is no need to compare this to hurrricane Katrina. Just because the government screwed up then doesnt mean from now on they should screw up just to be "fair." And yes I take this very personaly b/c this is my family your talking about. wow there is so much ignorance going on. if this helps, im sorry for the victims of hurrican katrina, but i am not sorry my community got help, and you shouldnt be talking if you dont know whats going on

Thank you. I think they did a lot better job in California. I guess it's easier to help people when their not shooting at you. I thought it was just me that noticed how smooth the evacuation went. God Bless the people of California.

it is because of california goverment is accountable and where on the ball and reacted quickly.not evry thing is race related white people lost houses and lives in katrina

those differences mean a lot to the rest of the world, basically most of them think that white people going through a hardtime is more important than black people going thru something way worse.thats just the way it is.
