Yep a very big difference between a rope in a tree and a boy beaten till he was unconscious and beyond for what a word if that.

The boy had blindness and a swollen head and still has headaches which of course a doctor can't determine the cause and yet grown people can't understand why they want these poor innocent jena 6 locked up.

If it were me or my kid I'd lock them up and everyone here knows they would too.

Nope I'm not a racist just confused as to why they a white boy getting beaten means nothing while a rope in a tree which hurt no one physically is more imprtant.

My personal thoughts on the problems with in this small town ... are that .. They need to take care of there own citizens. I find it very disturbing that .. By all the years - that have all ready pasted. Why - Just Now??

If there has been racial tension long before now. Then. Why hasn't someone complained long before now?

Would it have made any difference if it had been - 6 whites on 1 black? Yes !!! It would have been way much worse than what it is now. Which is really a much better way to “play the race card”? So? How does one or anybody see that the 6 blacks - who jumped one white was fair. This was just more than a school yard fight! To view pictures that have been shown on the web - Is totally unreal. This young man was struck hard enough to lie there - unconsciously while they "the J.6" kept on beating him. If it hadn't been for the one to have stopped this inhumane act - would this person have survived?

All ready – It has now been revealed that at least one of the six has a police record. It’s also – that if this person “who has a know record” - who has commits an assault on another person of such a degree. It’s a felony. As to the other five – they were present during this crime and are also accountable – and should be charged also with the same.

Another is the arrival of Al Sharpton and his bus load of nappies...[ As for this statement - I have no use for Al or Jesse Jackson or any that supports the NAACP.]

The uncontrollable use of "the race card" has been used way too many times. And as long as the Al Sharptons & Jesse Jacksons of the world are free to spread there Islamic B.S. There will never be an end to racial problems in this country.

Racial tensions, showcased by the media, have been growing recently. Between kramer's rant and don imus's statements racism has been a continually growing issue in the media today. The jena situation has acted as a rallying point for those who feel racism is in fact prevalent. The only difference between the civil rights era and today is that now everyone is so politically conscious, that racism has been a much quieter, less active enemy to the point where it cannot be fought because there are no causes to line up behind. Until now.

I think on the people that hung the nooses, yes. But, does that condone violence from the black teens? Is it fair they got to beat someone so badly because they weere offended. yes, it was VERY wrong for the 2 white students to hang the nooses...but again I reitterate, does that make it ok to go out and beat them and get off for it because it was "wrong" for the white people to hang the nooses? Since when do black people get to make the laws and be allowed to beat people because they felt racially hated against. The 3 white people who hung the nooses should have been expelled. Point blank and the people involved with the beating should be charged with assualt. That's the clear cut facts.

It is not an example of racism, it is an example of "Group Think" or "The Maddening Crowd". It is the mob mentality that has all these people up in arms. My personal belief is that the boys who hung the nooses should have been expelled, the Jena six should be prosecuted for assault.

Was hanging 3 nooses from a tree a hate crime? Certainly not in the traditional or legal sense, but it was far more than an innocent prank.

You already have racial tensions in this town, and then 3 blacks decide to hang out under a tree where only whites normall hang out, and then the next day, 3 nooses are hanging from the tree.

That certainly implies a possible threat by the white students that the 3 blacks should not hang out under that tree or they might get lynched.

It's not concrete evidence of course, but it is certainly circumstancial, and the students responsible should have been dealt with more seriously than a minor in-house suspension.

Hate crime? No. Reprehensible, ignorant, bigoted, cowardly act by dumb hick racists? Yes.

As for the fighting that followed, everything that happenned after was in response to the original incident. That doesn't excuse any lawbreaking that may have happenned, but it should be taken into consideration in any sentenancing that happens as a result.

Well 5 thumbs down later I guess there's a lot more ignorant, bigoted, cowardly, dumb hick racists out there than I thought!

Funny how Jesse Jackson Sr. said that Barak Obama was "acting white" and no one calls that racist. Also funny that Obama said he got expert advice on how to handle this news story from Congressman Jesse Jackson JUNIOR, who is on his election committee. LOL Take that in the chops, pops!

The whites brought it on themselves. Imagine in this day and age, a tree where only whites can sit and blacks need permission....:(

I thought this went out with the Civil War!
