Are these earthquakes happening because were getting closer to 2012?

I didn"t beilive in 2012 but all of a sudden earthquake in Haiti, Then Chile, Then haiwii now. Is it because we are getting closer to 2012?

No. Earthquakes happen because tectonic plates which float on the earth's molten core, are in constant movement. Sometimes they slide past each other and other times one goes under the other.

The Haitian earthquake was the first kind, the Chilean earthquake was the second kind, known as subduction. Sometimes the result is a tsunami, which is supposed to affect much of the Pacific basin, including Hawaii. This has been happening for millions of years and will happen for millions more. Their frequency has nothing to do with any calendar or year. They are random natural disasters.

there's a scientific theory that explains this. I observed it a jointly as in the past however the scientist became into saying how the earth has 5 (or 6, i do no longer undergo in ideas) cycles and 2012 is while it quite is going to end this cycle and by way of the tip of the cycle is often while the international gets very violent, as interior the tectonic plates will pass plenty reason earthquakes, volcanes,tsunamis, and hurricanes. yet another theory is that the north and south poles will change in 2012 that would additionally be an explaination for the accepted organic failures.

Earthquake happen because of moving tectonic plates...?? duh, **** happens because one eats things, and then **** it out. Please, this person is worried about 2012, not asking for a lecture on plate tectonics...



The reason it may seem to you that earthquakes are happening more often could be because of the increased availability and immediacy of the media, in other words it seems like more earthquake is happening simply because more earthquakes are being reported, you hear about it more, while earthquakes like that or worse have probably happened over the past, but with less media exposure, less people know about it. Even though the amount of earthquakes happening throughout history haven't really changed.



Also the human brain is good at making associations and perceiving something as more probable than they really are, for example people who have seen pictures of airplane accidents refuse to ride in planes, yet continue to drive cars which is much more likely to get them killed than travelling by airliners probably ever will. Pictures of earthquakes scare you, so your brain makes you think it's more likely to happen to you, sort of as a survival mechanism, even if it doesn't match reality. If there's a report on how there are less hurricanes happening these days than a few thousand years ago, you wouldn't give a ****, because giving a **** about it won't make you more likely to survive.



So don't worry about it too much, unless you're crazy like me and actually want it to happen for the excitement and thrill of it all. But unfortunately the chance of the so called 2012 prophecies actually coming true is pretty slim. I wouldn't rule it out though, but I would say that OJ Simpson is more likely to be innocent than the Earthquakes being related to 2012 prophecies... But if it doesn't happen by some reason, then good luck to ya.

No, the 2012 is all a myth. wait till 2012 comes. you never know if the world will get destroyed. don't believe in superstitions. the reason why these earthquakes are happening in south America is because the eruptions of volcanoes and plus their are many oceans near south America and so that is why their are many earthquakes/

Yes it is, but the world is not coming to an end. If you read about 2012, you'll see that it's really about a change rather than a physical end of the world. Think of it like a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly. As the change happens the caterpillar becomes dysfunctional, but something beautiful comes out of it.



So, you'll see increasing dysfunction as we approach 2012, but something better will come out on the other side.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. No one can specifically predict what will happen in the future but you just got to live life on the edge! Don't spend your time wondering what could or might happen because you will regret it. And don't listen to people going on about the bible because how do they know it's not made up? Do they have proof that God exists and the world is going to end? No. So don't worry yourself about these things, if it happens it happens. Atleast we will be gone from this awful world if it does happen. Don't believe everything that anyone tells you because things like this are based on beliefs and opinions. :)

No. Its happening because earthquakes are caused due to two major reasons. The first reason is the eruption of volcanoes, which are sudden, and as is known volcanoes are seat of inner disturbance and can effect the plates which is the second cause of earthquakes. Earthquakes are caused due to disturbance in the movement of plates, which again can be caused due to various reasons like under crust waves or cracks in the plates
