Question:
Cash for clunkers. A great idea. A very poorly executed program. How worried should we be about health care?

Only 10% of the cash for clunkers dealer reimbursements have been received. Dealers had to fill out literally pages of documentation and photos to qualify for money back from the government.
If the Obama health care plan is as poorly executed as "cash for clunkers" we are ALL going to be in trouble. Cash for clunkers is a drop in the bucket compared to a national health care initiative. Cmon people! wake up!!

I have been waiting for the Clunker for Health Care program. Just turn your 1984 to present Clunker (automobile) for the health care. Just think on it. If you could get health care by giving them your automobile , you would be getting off cheap. This makes as much sense as the health care package .

The Program is Fine the Business ain't getting any Money because of the Unions and Obama's Partners in Crime from Chicago and Detroit, they are Anti-Business Of Course It won't Help Businesses Because they Know how Mean and Cruel they are.

I never liked cash for clunkers. First, the government bails out GM spending billions of our dollars. Then they start cash for clunkers to give some customers to the company they just bailed out, spending millions of our tax dollars.

Think about all these people who couldn't afford to get a new car, yet now have one thanks to the gov. Now these people have car payments, and sky high insurance. I bet some of these people have already sold their cars for a nice profit, while others are soon to have theirs repossessed.

Name one thing the gov can do right?

- FEMA

- IRS

- Amtrack

- Sallie Mae

- Freddie Mack

- Pension Guarantee Trust Fund

- Post Office

- Medicare

- Medicaid

- Social Security

Every one of these organizatoins is losing money, a LOT of money.

If you want accountability, the requests from the car dealers for reimbursement have to be handled properly, checked out. It always takes from 30 to 90 days for federal reimbursement. It used to take much longer (up to 6 months, sometimes longer). If the dealers didn't have to provide complete documentation, you would be upset because some of the dealers were ripping off the government. The program worked out pretty well considering the large public response. I would expect a government health care option to work out just as well if they can keep the insurance and pharmaceutical companies from interfering with it.

Thirty percent or $900 million of the $3 billion spent went toward overhead of the government to "administer" the jacked up program. Health care would be a hundred times worse. The federal government needs to stay the hell out of business at every level.

I have a friend that owns a car lot. Presently the government owes him 800 grand on this deal. He can't even get anyone on the phone to talk to him about the money they owe. I sure the Obama care will be worse.

I reject your premise that it was a "great idea." Why should tax dollars go toward helping someone purchase an automobile?

I revel in your surprise that a government program would be slow, inefficient and wasteful.

This whole fiasco makes me sick...1st we bail the automakers out then we pay people to buy their products....and every taxpayer now owns a GM or Chylser or Ford ( yes, dont believe them when they say they didnt take any govt money, they got OUR tax dollars to research new hyrbrids) wether you want to or not!

We already build the hosptials so the Drs can get rich...how much more should we have to pay??? I dont know where its gonna end...maybe when the printing press breaks......What would Hamiliton, Jefferson, Adams and Washinton say???????

Bin-bleeping-go. Write to your congressman (I am not kidding, I did that already. Yes, it will probably do nothing. But hey, never hurts to try).
