Question:
Forget Labour being supported by the SNP. is it the Tories being supported by the DUP that should really worry us?
corny, but still never was a cornflake girl

The way things are going the Tories may need the support of the DUP to pass legislation, a deeply homophobic, anti abortion, creationist teaching climate change deniers.

They believe that gay marriage increases the risk of child abuse (like there was no child abuse before gay marriage)

Should Cameron distance himself from them?

Newsflash, more Tory MPs voted against gay marriage than there exists DUP seats in westminster. Plenty Tory MPs hold similar views. Gay marriage only passed with cross party support. David Cameron did not know it was a can of worms when he first championed it but he does now and he would not support a bill to roll back what he fought for. Even if he did, the repeal would fail with the same cross party support that passed it last time.

What the DUP want is to affect certain policies like bedroom tax, immigration and they want money.

Blimey. Never heard of the DUP before but yes clearly those policies are not fit for a 21st century Britain and thus under no circumstances should they be allowed a foot in the door. It's horrendous for the most part but there are a few things in there I could get on board with for sure such as teaching creationism in schools, that or ban teaching evolution too, it's not OK to have one taught and not the other.

My Cousin was saying the other day he could not see why two men wanted to have children, especially babies. I explained it was mostly rich people who did. He wasnt suggesting anything wrong, but it just seemed "weird" for a country person. But I dont approve of "gay marriage" either.

The DUP are of course a Northern Ireland party very much connected to religion. Actually the Conservative and Unionist party did originate in Northern Ireland, well the Unionist part did anyway. But they are too small for the Tories to use them a coalition parties. I think the UKIP or Libdems will be the only ones they will choose.

Absolutely, we should have nothing to do with these horrifying bigots. I suspect even Fromage would want to keep them at a distance (though I wouldn't say the same of many of his horrifying membership!)

In fact, it would be best by far to give the remainder of Ireland back to the Irish people, although I don't think the nicer or saner spirits of the Republic would particularly thank us.

Actually, it might be best of all to make the DUP a lovely present of the British sector of Antarctica, where they can play their ugly games on their own to their heart's content - although I should advise any gay penguins to watch out!

They're the biggest load of backward bigots anyone is ever likely to come across. They can't believe they're living in a modern society like the UK! The Tories must be really desperate if they're thinking of doing a deal with scum like that.

Lets be honest, for different reasons both are a poisonous chalice who want to take us back in time, one to a place that don't exist anymore and the other with our thinking that shouldn't exist anymore.

Such is life.

Both are as bad as one another, but for different reasons.

What sort of acts do you think would be passed by such a coalition, unlikely as it is? Ban abortions? Ban gay marriage? Public flogging for men who wear foundation? No, no and no.

Any Party that has to include " Democratic",or similar,in it's title,is suspect.

As in "People's Democratic " etc,.which pop up in the 3rd World.
