Cameron and chums do so many u-turns my head is spinning let alone theirs.

But they stubbornly deny that ATOS is not fit for purpose - how many more people must die in poverty before this government admit that they got it wrong?

My guess is quite a lot more, Cameron seems to have latched on to the belief that the harassing of benefit claimants, and most shamefully not excluding disabled people, will somehow get him support from 'hard working families'.

I suppose we have to ask what happens to those hard working families who may lose their jobs in a recession which shows no signs of ending yet, take the welfare state safety net from under their feet or what, the problem is that no one is asking the government about this because they want to believe that the problem of poverty caused by unemployment does not exist.

i think this is what he wants, to sweep the vulnerable under the carpet he has singled out the elderly, disabled, the poor and everyone except those who really are taking up the money in the country that is the immigrants/illegal immigrants. i am not against these people just can't understand how they get a huge welcome when the original people who have lived here all their lifes are picking from a gutter, unless you are rich they don't care either. atos is a killer it puts too many really ill people into so much stress, some die as it is too much and known suicide, this government is not from the real world and if they were to spend a day in our shoes then they would be calling rehab in 2 hours! they will never admit they are wrong

Sadly many more you only have to read the sick posts on here to see the problem they believe the crap spewed in the right wing press which have being doing a good job for this disgrace of a government. In my opinion its a crime which the DWP etc are committing IDS should be in court for a start along with ATOS for endangering peoples live many disabled and sick have already died some sadly take there own lives because of the overwhelming stress. The language of the right wing press is borderline fascist the sort of **** that came out of Nazi Germany stirring hatred of a section of the community in this case the disabled and other welfare claimants (there all suspect liars and spongers) the tory scum love it many are blaming the poor and sick for the deficit instead of the wealthy bankers and tax dodgers cut welfare ignore charities and the church now we can do what we really want to do cut tax for our selves and our rich friends typical Tory behaviour no surprise at all only by some real legal action and the removing of this bunch of pricks and there yellow bellied enablers the Lib Dumbs can we start to repair the damage."The Saint" no one is saying its as bad as parts of Africa but there is a increase in poverty due to shortage of work and cuts in welfare the disabled are being hit hard and we have a increase in food banks Save The Children are now have a uk campaign helped by Paul o Grady.

It's never going to be easy to responsibly manage welfare hand outs.

DID I hear somewhere that this government has ring fenced overseas aid to the tune of millions, my information cannot be correct surely? food banks appearing more and more, tragic cases as listed above, if money is so easily available why cannot it be spent here? seemingly from what we are repeatedly told this country is in sever debt , if this overseas hand out is considered a charitable act, then my way of thinking is to revert back to the old saying we used to abide by, "Charity begins at home"

The lack of caring and compassion for people has reached epic proportions. It now borders on the ludicrous. A little baby is literally beat to death by a full grown man. And, people insist it was a fair fight. And, why didn't the baby fight back? Come on, kid. Man up! And, you wonder if the government cares about people?

How many people will die before thieves who steal from the system that should be used to ensure cases like this never happen are brought to book.

Don't blame the Government, Tory, Labour, Green, LibDem, it makes no difference. it's up to you and me to shop cheats, report abuses and care for those in genuine need, just blaming others achieves nothing.

I've said it before on here and I'll say it again - there is no poverty in the UK. The definition they use has no bearing on reality.

It's the Tory way of reducing the welfare bill. Kill off a few poor people and there will be less to subsidise for the "hard working tax payer." The fact that those who need to claim often were hard working taxpayers once, or are friends/ relatives of hard working tax payers seems to escape their notice.

Not just disabled , a lot of unemployed pensioners and those made homeless will be lucky to survive this winter

People are visiting foodbanks in summer so how will they cope with less money in winter when they have heating to pay for

edit Robert

There is enough money ,the elite alone are loaded the queen owns billions upon billions of pounds of art and jewels that chinese americans japanese would love to buy . we are one of the wealthiest countries in the entire world plenty of money for bankers politicians and tax avoidance and not forgetting the Royal family
