What was America & the World captivated by the Casey Anthony trial? Thoughts? Do you agree with the Jury verdict saying that Casey was not guilty? Thanks for answering! Please no over-the-top answers!

I only heard of her today and that's only because I was flicking through the numerous news channels on Sky, when I got to CNN it said the verdict was about to be read so I thought, 'oh, this should be a laugh'

so I watched it. Then I flicked to another news channel.

Americans were not so captivated by the Casey Anthony trial. It was the news media, primarily CNN that was captivated. CNN Headline news covered this trial around the clock. Had this not been done there would have been no greater interest in this trial than in any other murder case that occurs every day.

It had so many compelling elements, for better or for worse.



She is very pretty. Its the murder of a kid which is dark and evil. And, unfortunately, people have a natural, prurient interest in dar and evil things.



Then there was the allegations of sexual abuse at the hands of her father and brother. Also the photos of her bar hopping and scantily clad helped. Seriously - this stuff interests people for whatever reason.

She was a compulisve liar. She lied about unnecessary things involving her poor daughter's death. She threw her own family under the bus to save herself from looking guilty--which in the eyes of the jurors worked.

who really CARES why? If i had to answer it would say we were captivated because she so BLATANTLY LIED TO POLICE. We could ALL see thru her lies but she kept on & on w/ the lying. Totally captivating to me because I would NEVER lie to police as most people would not. At least not after we were CAUGHT in a lie!

Well, I was captivated by her lieing....like she's a serious pathological liar...it's unfair I personally think she should of been charged and had the death penalty!! But maybe that's wrong of me to want someone to die... :( I'm sad about it!
