I lost my mom Angelene Carter in the attack on the pentagon on 9/11. It has been a hard 4 1/2 years here without her. Ive been in watching the coverage and recieving news from other victims' family memebers who have attended the trial. I dont believe in death penalty but i just wanted to see hwat everyone esle thinks. I mean having him being guilty and sentenced to death wont bring my mom and all those others back. but do you guys think that the terroist who were also involved care for Missoaui? or wether they care if he dies or not?

I have no problem with Massaoui getting the death penalty. He and his organization had no problems with the deaths they caused on September 11th. Granted, his death will not stop terrorism, but he should pay for his role in it.

P.S. My condolences for the loss of your mother.

I'm from Australia so we don't have the death penalty here and I haven't been affected in the way that those of you in the US have, but this is my opinion anyway:

I think this is a question that needs to be carefully considered. The chances are that putting this person to death would make him the Martyr that he wants to be - he would be hailed as a hero amongst his terrorist counterparts and i beleive he should be denied this satisfaction. He should be made to live out his days imprisoned in the country he so much despises - i believe this would be a greater punishment to him than death.

Further more murdering someone (which lets face it - this is what the death penalty is - sanctioned murder)will reduce you to his level - the mark of a truly civilised society is not just to rise to your challenges but to surpass them by showing your greater humanity and compassion - this is not some soft line bleeding heart statement - the basic fact is if you really beleive that you are superior or better than these people than you need to show it through you actions and not just pay lip service to it.

I am sure it is very hard for you to watch all this crap on television, I didn't know anyone personally but I was so upset and hurt and angry. I seen it as it took place on TV and left to get my kids because I just had to. My heart goes out to you and all the other families who were victims of that awful act.

Here are my feelings in relation to the death penalty. God is a forgiving God. He is also one who chastises for wrong doing. In the old Testament Exodus 21: 24 &25 reads Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

My personal belief in these scriptrures is if someone commits a crime against they should be punished likewise depending on the severity of the crime.

Missaoui and his counterparts killed many and I think should die for his actions.

I am sure that there will be those that disagree and I understand. If we sentence him to death are we not then murderers? No, this is his judgement for a crime.

After what you've been through, your thoughts on the death penalty are truly admirable.

I am also against the death penalty (in theory) However, if someone I loved died at the hands of another, I would have a hard time being as charitable as you.

it truly is because of crime that you suggested the following why we ought to consistently have the death penalty. listed the following are another reason's: -it serves due justice (the punishment suits the crime), and serving due justice is the NO.a million activity of a courtroom of regulation -it shows that we are difficult on crime -it receives bang for the taxpayers dollar -criminals given the DP have a 0% recidivism fee -It holds human beings responcible for the terrible content textile of their personality. This fulfills what MLKJ consistently needed: choose not by the coloration of your epidermis, yet by the content textile of your personality. The characterof those criminals warrants death -It holds the criminal responcible for his movements -appeals and **** aside, it truly is more low-priced then reformatory -it decreases the reformatory inhabitants, which saves even extra taxpayers funds -because the death penalty is the punishment given by a neutrel choose, there is not any vengance in it. hence, there is not any moral objection on hand with the death penalty. -The death penalty defends human rights by installation a mentality that "we gained't tolerate any violation of any probability free man or woman's human good's

Terrorists are willing to die for their causes. ie:suicide bombers. Why not give him the death penalty. Either way, our tax dollars will support him until he dies. True it won't bring your Mom or anyone else that died that day back, but why do the terrorists have the right to live or the choice? The victims didn't have a choice. I'm sorry for your loss.

It's hard to say. I think he should suffer but at the same time I think he should die. I wish they would make him suffer like everyone else in 9/11. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that nothing will ever take the pain away or bring your mother back, but I pray for you my friend.

That a**hole needs to die. He conspired to kill 3000 Americans. He could have stopped it at anytime and didn't. He's the worst kind of scum. Typically I'm against the death penalty, but since this guy isn't even human, he doesn't deserve anything, let alone sympathy. Not only should we kill him, we need to make it brutal to send a message...

btw-Sorry for your loss, and I admire your strength.

I think that we need to execute him in a way that will mess up his theology in such a way as to not let him be considered a martyr. Whether that means when the needle is stuck in his arm we make it known that there is pigs blood mixed in the lethal injection cocktail, or something else

I don't think they care one way or the other for each other at all. I think he should get life with no possibility of parole. Killing him only brings us down to his own level and as you say it wont bring your loved one back! God bless you!
