What's your opinion on the London Riots?

When all the riots started, it was because everyone was angry at the police as they thought they were being racist by shooting and killing a man who happened to be black.



However, I now firmly believe that the riots now have nothing to do with that event. It's now turned into an excuse for people to have a bit of 'fun', by setting fire to buildings, ruining businesses, stealing from an looting everything from shops, even killing others! But then allt he rioters will say it's to get back at the government too. Then why put everyone else through trauma and dismay? It's disgraceful and pathetic.



When you watch the news, almost everyone you see are youths, young adults, chavs. I believe that those sorts of people don't even watch the news - they're just joining in with the riots for the sake of it, and because everyone else is doing it. And all those other people who do it don't know why they are either. I mean, come on, an eleven-year-old was arrested the other night. I can guarantee he had no idea why he was doing what he was doing.



So really, all of the riots have nothing to do with anything anymore. There once was a motive, but they've now become an excuse for pathetic people to have some pathetic 'fun'.



It's stupid, they're being greedy and not thinking of anyone but themselves.

It disgusted me yesterday when I saw footage on the news of a young man bleeding on the ground and some guy came and 'helped' him up, only to take his bag and belongings and run, leaving him even more distressed and helpless.

It also upset me when that business went up in flames and was destroyed in the space of an hour. It took 5 GENERATIONS of people to build up...



It's just pathetic...:( x~

Hi Paul, its sad and tragic, but no surprise. Im a british woman living in NZ now. Everyone is asking WHY! Why so much hatred! I can tell you why..... It was bloody obvious 9 years ago.



Britain is a small island, it exports nothing much and imports almost everything, so economically not very self-sustaining so to speak. Then BAM the UK open the flood gates to europe and everyone was being shipped into britain via Europe... to house FOR FREE!!!



Read the statistics, a UK pensioner gets 6k a year to live on an illegal immigrant gets approx 29k a year... do the math! Look how many illegal immigrants there are in UK, actually you cant, because officials dont even know, and who is supporting them TAX PAYERS! And where is all this money coming from not from commerce, but taken from the mouths of UK citizens...



This is a riot of anger not colour, but outrage to a governments generosity to non nationals to the detriment of those who are nationals. The Uk poor getting poorer because the UK government chooses to support non official residents living there, in a very generous way.



Nobody will admit it because you aren’t allowed to say anything remotely honest just in case it could be perceived as RACIST!



Sorry lets get real, if ANYONE moves into a town and gets it all on a plate for FREE, knowing you, a UK citizen has to beg and plead to get help, after working hard for years and CONTRIBUTING to the tax system, wouldnt you be angry! I would...



If you want to get to the bottom this, really dig and you will find the truth. Its one thing to help your neighbour its another watching your neighbour drive around in a Mercedes, and cant speak English and you get next to nothing. This outcome has been brewing for years. Of course thugs and deranged half wits will jump on the band wagon, but they are not the fuel that started this.... in truth the government is!

Britain has not been in a massive war for a while so in the main there has been no patriotical discipline instilled in the populace in the last 3 generations. Also the emos banned the cane.

Greedy people, who can't get a job, who value materialistic items over their own lives. What they don't know is that one by one after all of this dies down, they're gonna put in jail and or prison for the rest of their lives so they might as well make the most of it.
