Does anyone actually believe that?

"The mass evacuation, prompted partly by fear, partly by order of Arab leaders, left the Arab quarter of Haifa a ghost city.... By withdrawing Arab workers their leaders hoped to paralyze Haifa." -- Time Magazine, May 3, 1948, page 25

Does anyone actually believe that Israel forced the Arabs to leave back in 1948? Yes I do.

No one runs away from the land their families have lived on for over 1000 years without a very good reason.

The Jews wiped out allot of Arabs so many Arabs left.

It was not just Haifa but the whole of Palestine. From 1947 Zionists attacked Arab villages, bulldozed their homes , drove out the inhabitants and even killed thousands driving 4 million into exile. This is what ex PM of Israel said about it .

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."

-- David Ben Gurion, quoted in The Jewish Paradox, by Nahum Goldmann, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1978, p. 99.

He also said this

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."

-- David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.

Both these quotes were made by an Israeli PM at the time it started. He said it not me !!! If you choose to call this man a liar then thats up to you my friend

Ok Yes Arab leaders did warn these people to move out or be killed. What would you have done ? Read the quote above "terror" "assassination " "intimadition" These were instructions by the PM of the time .

Of course not. Israel didn't, as we know it, exist yet; its existence was tentative. It was at the insistence of the USA and UK/under the aegis of the UN, that the land that comprises what is present day Israel be APPROPRIATED from the Palestinians. This of course left the Palestinians without access to the sea, without a coast line.

This may not have happened if there hadn't been a pogrom in Poland in 1946 (AFTER WW II) in which several Jews were rounded up and offed by Poles, apparently convinced that the Jews were sacrificing gentile babies during worship. The Jews, now the most protected and advocated for people on Earth demanded that they be allowed to leave Europe: it was too dangerous, too unreliable. The rest is, dare I say, history?

Welcome to the modern world.

Myth (big lie): Palestinians left willingly

Fact: This is a very old lie in the Zionist propaganda book that has expired long time ago. Most Zionists in Israel have stopped using it. All Israeli historians, including hard line Zionists such as Benny Morris, concede that Palestinians were ethnically cleansed in 1948 (Benny Morris believes that Israel made a mistake in 1948 when it allowed 20% of the Palestinians to stay. He believes that Israel should have evicted every last Palestinian from Palestine then, to make Israel a purely Jewish state). Ilan Pappe, an anti-Zionist Israeli historian, documented in his book "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" how Israel systematically ethnically cleansed the Palestinians. Israel forcibly destroyed and depopulated close to 500 Palestinian villages in 1948, making more than 0.75 million Palestinians refugees. Despite many UN resolutions to allow these people to return to their homes, Israel never complied. My father's village "Kafr Ana" was one of these villages.

The Palestinian refugee problem is the core of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Had the Palestinian refugees been allowed to return, the conflict would have been resolved long time ago.

It never happened that Arab leaders told Palestinians to leave the land.

Another proof of this is the Gaza wall between Egypt and Palestine part of the reason egypt does not want to open the wall or the borders is that it would mean that most Palestinians would flee and leave Gaza and once they flee they would lose their land for once and for all.

If we assume that this is true, why are they denied their right to return to their lands? Under international law if someone willingly leave his land and property he has all the right to return to it. No country in the world denies the right of return of people who are expelled or willingly left except Israel!

Why are they denied the right of return while any Jew in the world who's ancestors never set foot in Palestine is given that right?

Jewish historians recorded hundreds of destroyed Palestinian villages and towns. Palestinians owned 93% of land in all Palestine, so Israel is illegally installed on Palestinian owned land against the wish of Palestinian population!

Now what sane person would think a group of people living in the same land for thousands of years would suddenly tell another group here, we will leave because YOU believe YOUR God told you to kill us and steal our land? The Israelies, themselves believe THEY KILLED ARABS TO STEAL THEIR LAND-do GOOGLE Irgun for your answer:

"The Palestinians" would be crushed like grasshoppers ... heads smashed against the boulders and walls." " Israeli Prime Minister (at the time) in a speech to Jewish settlers New York Times April 1, 1988

"The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.

David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.

Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : "We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return." Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. "The old will die and the young will forget."

"We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves." Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

"We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel... Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours." Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces - Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.

"We must do everything to ensure they [the Palestinian refugees] never do return" David Ben-Gurion, in his diary, 18 July 1948, quoted in Michael Bar Zohar's Ben-Gurion: the Armed Prophet, Prentice-Hall, 1967, p. 157.

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population." Israel Koenig, "The Koenig Memorandum"

There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.

"We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said 'Drive them out!'" Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.

Rabin's description of the conquest of Lydda, after the completion of Plan Dalet. "We shall reduce the Arab population to a community of woodcutters and waiters" Uri Lubrani, PM Ben-Gurion's special adviser on Arab Affairs, 1960. From "The Arabs in Israel" by Sabri Jiryas.

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands." Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.

"Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment... Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly." Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, speaking of the Arabs of Palestine, Complete Diaries, June 12, 1895 entry.

"Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves ... politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves... The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country."

-- David Ben Gurion, quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky's Fateful Triangle, which appears in Simha Flapan's "Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

Myth: Arab armies attacked Israel in 1948 and Israel miraculously won against odds

Fact: This attack is a myth that is spread by the Israeli propaganda and unfortunately does not get challenged enough by the pro-Palestinian side. "Attack" implies an act of aggression. The one who attacked were the Zionists who started attacking Arab towns and villages nearly 5 months before Arab armies arrived. The Arab armies only intervened to defend the part of Palestine which was allocated to the Arab state by the UN partition plan, and they had explicit orders of not attempting to attack any land beyond that allocated to the Arab state. By the time Arab armies (20,000 in total) arrived, the Zionist forces (which outnumbered the Arab armies 3 to 1) had already occupied 1/3 of the land allocated to the Arab state. By the time the war was over, Israel occupied more than 50% of the land allocated to the Arab State by the UN. So Israel was the aggressor and the Arabs were just defending their land from Israeli occupation. Had the Arab armies not arrived (though too late), all of Palestine would have fallen to the Zionists in 1948.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out if some murderers are killing your neighbors that you should leave before they KILL you. The fact is, Jews said "LEAVE OR BE KILLED" and an outnumbered(3 to 1) Arab Army also warned people they could no longer stop the murderous Jewish terrorist groups, labeled as such by the British-Likud(oops Irgun before being elected-GOOGLE them), the Stern Gang, Haganah, Lehi, Levi and many others.

Amazing, the Jews felt Arab homes and property were there's for the taking, because they were vacated UNDER THREAT OF MURDER.
