No. We have to realize that their system is different from ours. We have to let them do things their way. If they don't have evidence, they can't do anything. There are lots of cases in the U.S. where the authorities might know who did it, but if they don't have the evidence, they can't proceed.

No I don't think so. I feel for Natalie's family and I guess when your not on your own "playground" anything can happen. She was a stranger in a strange place and was "at risk"runnin the bars and dealing with island people. I was in Ocho Rios Jamaica and I felt very unsafe there.

No, remember the only thing you know is what the news media tells you. The news media has convicted him, because it gets them ratings. The news media does not care about the truth, just the ratings.

As others have said you would punish many other people who have nothing to do with this, but try to take care of their families with jobs in tourism trade.

NO NO NO NO NO NO

Aruba is FUN, BEAUTIFUL AND SAFE....

That crime could have happened anywhere in the world!

Any beautiful girl who goes to another country and gets drunk, then leaves to the beach with a stranger is DUMB..

Now, the island is not equiped for to do investigations on these types of crimes...That is not their fault....THEY DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON THE ISLAND, with the exeption of when DUMB GIRLS COME FROM OTHER COUNTRIES AND WANT TO ACT LIKE S#UTS....

ummm do you know how many people daily the US doesnt choose/cannot indict.

The legal system is in place for a reason. It works for some and others it does not. You shouldnt boycott a country for what you consider a "failure" of the legal system. He deserves due process as do you. A judge found there was not enough evidence to idict.

It's ignorant to think it is the country's fault.

yes, and for all the people who answered no to this question I have this to say.If you really delve deep into the investigation of natalee's disappearance (and there are a number of websites that cover this story in great detail, you just have to really look) you will come to the realization that there is huge cover-up of epic proportions concerning this case.Sure people go missing in america everyday and never get solved but the evidence is so overwhelming here that how the aruban authorities have handled it really borders on the the ridiculous. If this particular case had occured in the states it would have been solved and the perpetrators would have certainly been prosecuted by now and we would not be having this discussion now almost 3 years later. According to actual testimony in this case the authorities know exactly what happened, but from the beginning of the cover-up certain people in the aruban government got involved to help their friend (Paulus Van der Sloot ,Joran's father) and they tried to pin it on 2 security guards , when that did'nt work too many lies were told and it was too late to go back and recant their stories.

If just some of the people in the know came forward and put this thing to rest we could all get some closure on this especially natalee's family. In the meantime I believe due to the obviousness of this case and the corruption of the Aruban government / authorities that americans should unite and boycott this island to pressure someone into coming forward and ending this matter! There are plenty other sunny destinations around the world or in the states that people can vacation in.

You are all saying this cr@p about Van der Slot and Aruba, I will be glad if they don't put him in gail in case the body is not found. That will teach you American that you can't always impose your rules on people's country. Maybe the girl injected heroin 10 times to herself before the incident. Every one is focused on the supposed to be "assassin" but no one is doing a background check on the girl. Her mom is upset, ha hahaha ! she probably didn't know that her girl was a drug addicted.

Now you better keep your dirty *ss home instead of going in caribbean and latin american paradises to get drunk, high during spring break and f*ck till death. Now keep your missionarie's *ss home because we don't need them.

Who knows! the girl is maybe getting f**cked somewhere in Africa with her f**cker while we keep on worrying about her.

Whatever happen to Americans on spring break, after graduation party, outside of America doesn't matter to me. You leave home to have a good time, but you do all the cr*p and nastiest thing in the world.Should I feel sorry for you?

Didn't she know already what coul happen to her when she is on drug? Didn't her parents say" don't take drug" you loose your mind and people can do whatever they want to you. Remeber that we should never leave our beverage if we don't have an eye on it? Didn't she know that? Even if Van der Slot is the assassin, this girl is a fornicator, a druggeeeeee!! and all you can call it.

If she is really dead, than may she RIP, I hope that God will take her sins away. If he really kill her then, he should get what he deserve in Aruba or the Netherland. He should not be sent to the US because he didn't commit a crime in this country. I 'm sure that none of you will learn from what happen. This year you will all go and keep doing your crap despite what happened to natalee. Remember that if you die because you drink too much or take too much drug, you better do it in the US because no one is going to take your cr...p for you. Get lost! When you behave the way she did how typical Spring break junkers do, you are looking for death andf y'all know it. I have nothing agains American, i use you as an exemple because I know what you do during srping break. To those who decide to do something better with their life, Good for you. REspect!

I dont think that Aruba should be penalized becuase of some dumb decisions. But I totally am disgusted with what they are doing. They know the guy did it. It's written practically in stone. He should be jailed for life!

No crime happens everywhere...even in America.

It would be unfair to the citizens of Aruba who have absolutely nothing to do with this.

No. There is no use in indicting him if they do not have enough evidence to prosecute him. They need the body to prove that she was murdered.
