Not so much of a hoax, rather a hype. If I know my English well.

It's the bloated, decomposed carcass of some small carnivore. I once came across a cat that had been blown perfectly round and an icky shade of green. Pity my sceptical mind kept seeing a dead cat, otherwise I would have made money with the photos...

im 52 years old and that photo has been around sense i was a little girl. it was a hoax then and now its making the rounds again and its still a hoax.

I honestly think it looks like a decomposed raccoon. You can see the lower canines. They're chipped off at the top, and the supposed "beak" is just the upper part of its skull.
