I don't know if you would count this one. Hurricane Katrina has made the biggest impact in 2005. Many people died and suffered from it. It brought unity to the country as many Americans for other states tried to help these people by offering food, money and shelter. Hurricane Katrina also brought a negative side of how irresponsible and careless our govt is. I remembered watching Paula Zahn on CNN and hearing Mike Brown said that he had not hear anything about the convention center. It's sad.

Anna Nicole Smith who represents all "disregarded people." When I see her, I think that, "there go I but for God." As long as Anna Nicole was legally married to her husband, she is entitled to a portion of those millions that he left. We are not as famous as she is. What will happen to us if we end up in the same predicament? This made a "big impact" on all of us who could be left all alone and penniless. Respect is the keyword here. Hurricane Katrina as a major catastrophe, will continue to dwell in my mind as another way to carelessly treat other human beings. It should not be a situation that needs to be addressed any further. It should have been taken care of way before April 13, 2006. I see that Iraq received over 80 billion in monies with total disregard given to our United States citizens in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and parts of Georgia's border. God Bless.

i think the terri schiavo case was very important. i think it made a lot of people think about the quality of life, and living wills, i think that it opened up a lot of questions about right and wrong and about the rights of parents and spouses. i dont think the situation was a good thing but i believe the thinking of those who followed the case was a good thing. i also think that everything happens for a reason, i didnt think it was necessarily the right thing to do to remove the tube, but i think that the impact that it had on america was probably a good thing. sorry i used more than a few words.
