Is this the greatest enemy the Christian Church has faced? Lets talk people. :) I am a catholic and when i was finished reading it, it made me confused and led me to question my faith in God, and why I am practicing this religion. In each time that Dan Brown was interviewed, he clearly states that every information in his book is accurate, yet it says on the cover in small print, that its a novel. I have found out that its a complete hoax. I am concerned for those who have not found answers, confused, mislead, and have drifted away from God, and how this is affecting the people.

IT is a good book, and a good story. IN the novel, the author states fiction as if it is fact, to make the story work. It isn't claiming to be true. That is ok.

I think anything that makes someone think about their faith is a good thing. Questioning things, reasoning with them can lead you closer to god, not farther away.

I am Lutheran, so I cannot speak for Catholics, but I think it is a fantastic book. Think of it this way, so many people were intellectually stimulated by this book and began to think of religion and have intelligent conversation about many issues. It opened the door to help show God (in any sense) to so many!

I see where Catholics may get upset, but he clearly states that the Opus Dei is a small sect of fanatics and does NOT represent the whole religion.

If you are concerned about the portrayal of Mary Magdelene and her proposed relationship with Jesus Christ, I implore you to find any evidence besides blind faith that says Jesus never married. He could have and still maintained his divine status.

The theories are TRUE THEORIES. That means that they HAVE NOT BEEN PROVED, by ANYONE, much less a measly author. People do really believe these things, and they could have happened. It cannot be a hoax, because in order to be a "Hoax" someone has to claim something is true. D. Brown is just claiming something is a THEORY.

If it is such a hoax why are they in court right now because another researcher is claiming he first invested these theories?

Most of the hypotheses proposed in the Da Vinci Code are not able to be proven and some are invitingly specious with spurious conclusions. However, it is a very interesting read and it has ignited a great deal of interest in history, travel and religion. Isn't that worth something?

Here are some interesting comments regarding the religious aspects of the book:

Dont lose your faith in your religion...I love this book, it is one of my favorites....Yes it is true about the priory of Sion... But keep in mind that it is a novel and nothing further..i admit that when i finished this book i thought the same thing.......and i too did question my faith...but I am stronger, and past events in my life has led me to believe in my religon even more strongly...It has had no effect on me at all. I love the book for many reason, the suspense, the storyline, and the genius of it..But I keep in mind that it is just a novel, purely fictional derived from facts...yes, I love the book but I dont let it break my faith in my religion...

Beware! Dont let "the Da Vinci Code" steal yoru faith. It is Satan's tool to destory many faiths because Satan knows he has the short time left to deceive so many people with the lies and confusions before Jesus comes back and cast the satan into the eternal Hell.... its very dangerous to read this book.. remmy God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow..and God is the truth but Satan lies lot to confuse and steal the faiths away and lead them to the hell without believing Jesus because John 3 :16 said, .. whosoever believes in His son have the eternal life..... so don't let the confuse inference your faith. Hold your faith fast on Jesus till He calls you home. Run to Jesus and ask him for help to defend your faith. Amen...

Remember the radio show, "War of the World" back in the 1950s?

There were people in the farmlands thinking that the US was actually being invaded by martians!!!

Even Dan Brown admitted that eventhough he did a lot of research in this work, it is completely a work of fiction.

Folks! He admitted it!!!!

Search for your own answers on this one. Safer then taking our word for it. We could be wrong.
