Is zimmerman going on trial anytime soon? And does anyone know when this could be? I don't see how he's going to get away with it..

A grand jury has been scheduled for April 10th to decide whether there's enough evidence to arrest Zimmerman.

However, the State Prosecutor assigned to clean up this mess says she might not wait.

The police had enough evidence to arrest Zimmerman the night of the shooting.

But they were ordered not to:

Plus there's the fact that the Republican politicians who wrote that self defence law say it doesn't even apply to Zimmerman:

Apparently the experts on this subject have another take on this. They say he will be taken to trail. You have Zimmerman who is a Neighborhood watch person, carrying a 9 mm pistol. He called the Police, was told to stay out of it, pretty much to Stand down, which is Police talk for disengage and leave this young man alone. Which He chose to not do. One woman that was on the phone to 911 provided a small window into what happened. You could hear someone yell help and then a shot. Zimmerman's Brother said that sounded like his brother's voice. How convenient to yell help and then shoot, in case anyone WAS listening. Guess all these good citizen's who are willing to hang out a young man, a dead young man as at fault, do not know about Zimmerman's past....beating a Police Officer and other assaults.

The biggest proof that I have seen so far was when Zimmerman was arrested and brought into the jail bay where the Police Cars park. There are numerous cameras focused on them when he is taken out of the car. No signs of any struggle were seen. They also walked him past two other cameras. Zimmerman who said he was fighting for his life had no marks, no blood, no swelling and showed no signs of being in an altercation, much less being in the fight for his life. They said he was checked out in an ambulance, but they don't give you a bath, wash and iron and mend your clothing, and wave a magic wand to take away evidence that was never there. That is liable to work against him, plus the Police will take detailed pictures of his face, head, hands, chest, back, and any other part necessary to prove any injuries or non injuries, so they will be able to prove what did or did not happen to Zimmerman that night.

By the way did this young man have to die? How about a warning shot, or shoot him in the leg. This young man, no matter what is said about him did not deserve to die. Be curious to see how many shootings they have had in that area before this.

He will go to trial, hopefully twice....Criminal and Civil.

Stand Your Ground means to protect Yourself, your Family, home and property. It doesn't mean you can run around looking for trouble and then have the right to Stand the Ground of other places.

There are two sides to a story. On one side you have Zimmerman with the 9 mm pistol, and on the other you have a young man dead with Zimmerman' s 9 mm bullet in him, who can not tell his side of the story.

The LAW says he had the right to shoot to defend himself, so that is the pivotal question that must be answered. "Situations" can take years before they get to trial, because prosecuting and defending lawyers both need time to prepare their cases (if there even is one) after all of the investigating, toxicology screens, and forensics data have been analyzed. The DA (the prosecutor for the state) originally determined there was NOT a case.

I will assume GZ is at least semi-rational. He has encountered black people before and not shot them. He knew the police were on the way, so if he shot Trayvon in cold blood, the police would definitely arrest him, and maybe he exited his car because he truly felt Trayvon might be up to no good in the neighborhood. {GZ did not have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight at that time.} So I am inclined to give credence to his story. If the law and courts do, then he is a free man.

This hate is exactly why we have this problem. What would they have on you if they checked you out and knew everything you have done, that is if you were 100% honest.

If you are afraid of someone and the Police are on their way, you don't get out of the car.

zimmerman has not been charged. one cannot go to trial without being charged.

and most importantly zimmerman did nothing wrong.

anybody with a brain would have pulled the trigged in that situation.

It's a confusing bag of mixed nuts!

There is the law that is on the books, and how to interpret it.

The conflicting stories from people who claim they heard a shot, seen something in their front lawn.

The dispatcher.

Why he did what he did.

Was it race? was he (Zimmerman) within his rights? was the "stand you ground law used within the frame work of the law?

If it is not!

Then! do we call him a"vigilante"?

I see this as one long drawn out case.

All things right now are "iffy"

A lot of things to define.

Still trying to figure out how this is a racial incident -- its almost as if the professional race baiters (Al, Jesse and barack) were just waiting for some incident to blow completely out of proportion in an election year.

Soon but no one knows it yet.He can get away with it.It depends on lawyers. If Terrorists can get away,if a child killers can get away,if Amanda Knox can get away because of the lawyer, then with his fans money that pays for lawyers he will get away with it too.

Now, Martin is the one who lost it all, then his parents.Nothing can bring him back. His fault was to hang around with the wrong crowds that do grafities & stuffs. He was expelled from school for that & ended up all the way to that place where he lost his life. His parents were the one who should have straightened him up but they didn't.They are to be blamed in some way.Zimmerman has to take the fall because he tends to be a racist. He followed a hooded black kid to terrorize him & to show him who is in charge in that neighborhood with the thought of teaching him a lesson but not to listen to what his explanation to hang around there was.He was unstopable and he tought the law was in his side.First, Martin is black, then the hood, then Martin's fear...He took a person's life be it black or white,so he has to get the max. punishment.Zimmerman's father & friends contributed to his demise by trying to protect him instead of showing a lil respect to the dead.

He didn't do anything wrong!!!!! When you're being assaulted and beat to death I expect you'll just take it so the thug (sells weed, kicked out of school, uses the name no limit ***** on twitter, assaulted bus driver, stole the candy and coke he had) can kill you or worse make you like Terri Schiavo since "he's just an innocent boy"
