Could America Occupy China?

Let's pretend that there was a war between the U.S. and China (without the use of nukes). The U.S. would have advantages in the sea and air, and would most likely be victorious on these levels. However, the Chinese ground troops would be difficult to defeat (mainly due to their numbers), they do lack in technology, but there is power in numbers.

Now let's pretend that America defeated the entire PLA army, Most likely what would happen is that the U.S. would try to start a democratic government in mainland china. This would definately be met with opposition from the Chinese Locals. Do you think that the American forces could stop the violence in China? (by stop I mean like what they are trying to do in Iraq).

Iraq has about 30 million people? China is far bigger (1.3 BLN), area-wise and population-wise. Most of the population is of one ethnicity (Han 92% so there wouldn't be a lot of racial wars). Do you think the American military would be successful in occupying China

No, America would not succeed in trying to occupy China without resorting to bombs and such, perhaps agents such as what were used in Vietnam, to eradicate some of the population.

If China stormed America say, it would be one hell of a fight i'll give it that much, but jeez, the chinese population is like a colony of fire-ants (not being mean) there are so so many of them and they can be deadly!

You can't even occupy Iraq with any kind of stability. China would be a disaster due to geography and population.

Here's what's really going to happen:

The Chinese are VERY patient. They will sit in the weeds for the next one hundred years if that's what it takes, and defeat the USA economically. Right now, they're quietly buying up all your debt, so that's step one. If you live long enough, you'll find out what step two is. If your children live long enough they'll find out what step three is. And so on.

First of all, I am sick of red necks who call the USA 'America'. America goes from the tip of South America to the northern end of Canada. And as for your answer, the USA can't successfully occupy Iraq. They couldn't take on a hundredth of China in their best days. Right now it's their worst day and getting worse.

YES, militarily, America can take on any nation in the world, including China... Don't hold your breath though, it won't happen.
