Question:
McCanns: why have the McCanns waited until they became suspects before launching a new Ad campaign ?

Madeleine McCann has now been missing since 3rd May, and initially the McCanns put out posters with her description in many countries around Europe and even North Africa. But then the looking seemed to stop and the PR photo shoots for the parents began. Despite all this only £75,000 was apparently spend out of the £1000,000 plus fund actually looking for Madeleine.

Now months later with the two parents being suspects and facing public ridicule, they hire a new PR team and launch a multi thousand pound ad poster campaign to 'find Madeleine'.

Seriously, is there anyone left in Europe that does not know what Madeleine looks like ?. Are the McCanns really just trying spend their way out of trouble with our money, or is there real value in re-postering Europe ?

Because they got widely critisized last week for wanting to spend the money on their leagl fees when they have hardly spent a penny of it looking for their daughter. Also their new PR team which is being paid for from the Madeleine fund probably advised them that it would look better for them if they started to spend a bit of the money doing what they said the money was for. Anyway 80k is a pittance when you think how much they were going to spend on their legal costs. I continue to ask where the 2000 pounds a week interest is going as nobody has been able to tell me so far and the McCanns have been steadfast in their coyness about what they are actually doing with the money.

I know where you are coming from and having just returned to the UK last week after 5 weeks in Europe I admit posters were there to be seen all around. Without getting in to the Did they do it? Did they not? thing IF they parents are really and truly searching for Madelene then there are much more sophisticated ways to do it. Lets face it if there is a remote chance Madelene was abducted, apart from the eye thing to which one would need to look close up she is not going to resemble in any way the Madelene the media are showing us.With regard to waiting until they were suspects before launching this new Ad campaign someone else brought this up and I read (believe it if you like) that it was all in hand before they were declared suspects.

The McCanns are creatures of Habit .They think this is the answer, but I seriously believe it is a smoke screen for something else ! I think The New Campaign will be organized in such a way that it will have new conditions and Rules to cover all legal expenses, with any new donations that are made .Ltd companies like any other Business can be closed after a year, then they can be re-established with new rules and Company headings.

The mccanns are a weird couple they never cried or was in any way distressed they never showed any emotion in the first few days of Maddie going missing that's if she is missing they haven't showed any what so ever. its abit to fishy don't you think there hiding some thing .... the papers say there might be a 3rd person involved.......if my child had gone missing id be so emotional id be in bits i would never give up searching an i wouldn't go home till i found them. the look on there faces says it all they know where she is but wont tell cause there frightened of going to prison an the twins going in to care plus losing there jobs...........

they could always hire a private detective , posters have been done , we have all seen them in many countries

the whole of europe knows about madeline , she has been on the front pages on papers in many countries , this is another smokescreen just like the abductiion theory

With public opinion/support about to reverse, they are likely using as much of the money as they can before people begin to ask for their donations back. It may also be a way of rallying any remaining public support, and try to sway any jury's opinion.

With over 400 kids going missing each year in the UK, they would do well to donate the balance to a charity aimed at helping those other families who have 'lost children'

IMHO.

It is to cover the McCanns, to take the limelight off them. It is ridiculous that they are doing this campaign, knowing that Madeleine is not alive, as to what the media reports.

Why don't they give some of the money to 'Rhys Jones's family' They have suffered a tragic loss too.

*Edit* A very good point Mark H.

Think about it would anybody making an advert/poster or whatever for missing Madeleine actually have the nerve to charge for making such a thing surely they would want to donate their help for free?

Personally I think its 80 grand for the get the McCanns out of jail free campaign, just my opinion thats all

*EDIT* thanks CT

Maybe like me, the couple feel that with all the negativity being felt at present, and everyone speculating that they have killed the child, the search for her has drawn to a halt. MADDIE IS STILL MISSING. Or are you all so hell bent on accusations of foul play to realise that?

I for one have not given up looking for Maddie, and until a body has been found, I will keep looking. It seems to me that the couple are "damed if they do, and damned if they dont."

'Cos they want to get the public and media "worldwide" on the campaign trail to take the heat away from the TRUTH.

Wouldn't you? If you were backed into a corner!

Because before they became suspects they were having alot of fun on their extended vacation with all the money that was donated to help find Maddie.

There was an active campaign up until last Friday.

It's a re-launch of the campaign to raise awareness that Madeleine is still missing. Even you have to admit, people have lost sight of that, with all these lies.

From what i read in the news paper, they're doing a new campaign because they're angry that the police have stopped actively looking for her and the McCanns still believe that she is alive somewhere.

A little late in the day for that isn't it. who knows how the mind of a murderer goes, but logic and common sence dictates that they are not innocent
