How dare you say as bad as Ireland, I moved back here a few years ago & a great place to bring up a child, more freedom, not polluted, a good education system, less crime, yes there is a recession but show me a country that there isn't............. you should really rephrase your question......... we were fine until we joined the euro.......... even though I loved London, it is a better quality of life here, less stressful ......... Some Scottish people probably want their independence & some may not but that is their choice............lots of English people have moved over & are living here as a slower pace of life & safer .......

I cannot believe that you have the nerve to say "like Ireland" when we have one of the best education systems in the world,a solid healthcare, very low crime, good tourism and well-mannered,funny people. Britain is an absolute shambles compared to Ireland with cities such as Glasgow,Liverpool,Manchester, and Birmingham(I could go on) that are so poor and desolate you wouldn't expect to find them in a third world country.Maybe should try pull your head out of your **** the world is a much brighter place when you do so.

Don't be so silly.
It makes me laugh when I read that the Scots hate the English. From what I can see reading YA posts there's as much hatred towards the Scots, by the English mostly, than anyone else. Some have never even been to Scotland.

Penny stocks are loosely categorized companies with share prices of below $5 and with market caps of under $200 million. They are sometimes referred to as "the slot machines of the equity market" because of the money involved. There may be a good place for penny stocks in the portfolio of an experienced, advanced investor, however, if you follow this guide you will learn the most efficient strategies https://tr.im/4ed13

With respect to Rambo, England and Scotland already have their own legal currency which is set at the same monetary rate. If they ever get independence, which I doubt will happen, then one of the currencies may be devalued against the other, but that is normal every day trading on the money markets.
Furthermore, I'm Scottish and I think of myself as British!

I would like to reiterate that the rest of the United Kingdom would be a better place if Scotland was to go the whole way and become a republic. Then they would be completely independent and have utter separation instead of wanting it both ways, independent, yet still financially and millitarilly releiable on the rest of the U.K.!

Are you London Labour? - eire has the 2d optimal earnings united states interior the ecu and has a GDP in line with capita it somewhat is in certainty greater than the united kingdom and 30% greater than the ecu usual. eire has a reserve pension fund of £20 billion that must be called upon. uk / Scotland = £0.00 Irish Economist Marc Coleman on BBC Scotland “... ten years of Labour management has left Scotland with a GDP in line with capita it somewhat is heavily below the ecu usual. uk is the sinking deliver. no longer eire.

If Scotland become independent I hope we will have less Scottish TV presenters like Loraine kelly. I cant stand their wibbling accents

I don't like to use the rather emotive expression "Independent" who are they independent from? We 4 parts of the union are equal partners. Its like a doctors surgery, isn't it,where all the doctors are equal partners.
Its much better to say "secceding from the union" like the southern states did in the American civil war. If Scotland wishes to leave we wish them well, but feel they will have made a huge mistake. So much better to be a valued and proud part of a world power as they have for almost four centuries.

As bad as Ireland? Why do you think Ireland is being considered a sure bet in the financial market, because they know we'll come right they have faith in us,we're seen as a certainty .Scotland does not have that luxury, they have no track record.Tell me ,what does it have to offer bar Scotch and golf.
We have plenty in our favour http://www.iodireland.ie/news-events/good-news-for-ireland-inc/ireland-now-worlds-2nd-most-globalised
@dizzybint-You obviously know nothing about our education system.Ireland lies ahead of Germany, Israel and Japan in the education ranking system so I don't think we have too much to worry about.I spent 22 years in Scotland 33 in Ireland.I've seen both sides.

Dont really know - there are so few of them that the rest of us dont really listen to them!
@R T Fischall - you ARE aware that England extends a bit further north than Hadrians Wall - arent you?
@ Misty Blue - a better education system for one if your comment is indicative of yours!

I'm not sure about your references to Iceland or Ireland. The Scottish people are very proud to be Scottish and don't consider themselves to be British. I hope that when they vote in the referendum for independence they can put aside their pride and yes their predudice toward the English and consider the economic effects of independence. The Scottish pound would be floated on the stock markets separately from the pound sterling, they may even end up having to adopt the euro. There are advantages and disadvantages to the Scots to vote for Independence, I sincerely hope they vote to stay as part of the United Kingdom.
