What you advocate is very reasonable and what you would expect in a democracy. Those who vote for the BNP are very concerned that, slowly but surely, our cities and towns are being transformed into extentions of Cairo, Delhi, Mumbai, Damascus, Karachi, Instanbul, etc. We are not just talking about a small quaint area of town such a Chinatown where tourists and locals can pop into and then pop out back into the host culture once they leave it. Now, everywhere is being transformed into downtown Culcutta. Large Hindoo temples and minarets dominate our landscapes and every street corner spots a shop spilling over into the pavement with plantains, okra, etc.
Having said that, the agenda of the BNP and its members are laced with undertows of violence, hate and yobbishness. It's the party that give succour to people who indiscriminately spit on people just bacause they look different from them. In fact such people do more than that, often sending their children (can't be arrested) to rob, harass, mug peaceable, good, legal immigrants who, ironically, love and support the British way of life. We have all seen them in action in many documentaries gnashing their teeth and baring their fists at all and sundry. One cannot support such a party until it condemns such people and actions. When we see the BNP sending in their heavies to "sort" out the louts in those estates (the police seem inpotent) maybe we can begin to listen to what they have to say.
Unfortunately, they seems to be no politician from the major parties who is willing to listen to the concerns of the "silent majority" and take up the cause but at the same time denouncing the extreme right agenda. Our parties seem to operate on the basis of some wishy-washy vision of melting-pot Britain where anything ethinic goes and is preferred to what we used to have. They speak about equality, but planning permission for a mosque is easier than one for a church, a veil or a turban is acceptable but a cross is not, Sharia law can take precedence over the law of the land. It's time for some real world politics.
