Doesn't matter if it was or not. He propped open an outside exit door and came back inside with the guns. See the NY Times

Think about your own question.

1. A man intent on killing many will not stop because of a ban on guns, instead will plan on how to get his guns inside.

2. Had there been one or two other guns in there he might have been stopped before he did the damage he did. Again, that would have nothing to do with posted signs of "no guns"

Guns in the wrong hands were responsible for the killings

Do not leave yourself defenseless by allowing only your enemy to have access to weapons that will damage or hurt you, even kill you.

Nobody expected danger in a moviehouse watching batman.

Is this man therefore a terrorist?

Why has no one even given us a clue about what is this all about?

Was he a hater of batman? movies?

The theater WAS posted as a Gun Free Zone, as per CSHA,(Criminal Safety & Health Act).

Denver is the only city with enforceable carry restrictions, and they can only ban open carry, concealed carry with a permit cannot be banned, per the Colorado Supreme Court.

Remember this was a DARK movie theater full of children and he released tear gas or smoke bombs first!

Do you really think the average gun owner would have gotten a very accurate shot off?

Maybe the guys that got BIN LADEN but even your local swat team would have had a hard time !

Plus there is serious risk of more loss of life in a gun battle. Of course I agree we all would have loved to shoot him when his gun jammed!

Do you really think it would have made any difference? Do you think that if the theater complex had a "No guns allowed" notice posted he would have simply turned around and gone home?

To Ed Smurf: EVERY picture you see of the place shows the marquee with the name of the place in letters 10 feet high.

Technically legal in most areas unless local laws exist (City of Denver), in which case signs must be posted. May be interpreted as disturbing the peace by law enforcement.

I'd say a Batman fan group wouldn't be armed. Think about it.

What was the name of the theater? No story I have seen gives the name of the place?

Driving in Aurora Colorado with a gun is illegal even if you have a gun permit-so is taking it in the theater-Aurora Co has very strict gun laws-had one person had a gun there it possible could have been prevented.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Colorado check this out. seems like you could drive a tank to the theater as long as you don't park in a handicap zone.

Dunno, but would think that after the shooting at "Ford's" theater that they might be made into a gun free zone

Sure!
