Can the Oregon standoff turn into an Alamo like event?

If the militants had refused to surrender with law enforcement, and had begun firing at them, could it eventually have gotten to the point where the US military would be called in and have to attack the wildlife refuge if the militants had refused to surrender? If the US soldiers attacked the wildlife refuge and all the militants were killed, what would the response be?
Would anti-government groups yell "Remember Oregon"?

No, the police would have gone in as the military have no authority to act in such an event and it is difficult to call them in. The police now have access to military equipment and training.

The standoff was not such a big deal with police happy to let the gunmen hold out as they were not actually doing anything to harm anyone. They allowed parcel delivery.

Yes, some people will talk about this event as the police or authorities cracking down on honest men, but this will be a minority.

Not at this point, but I guess it would be more like Waco Texas, just a dead bunch of worthless criminals. The Alamo was full of heroes.

The U.S. military does not have a law enforcement mission. Posse comitatus prohibits the Federal government from using the military in a law enforcement role.

Nope, next to militarized Police, the FBI is quite militarized themselves, it'd be Waco at most.

Any scenario could have been possible. What you describe could have happened, or the FBI and State Police could have simply taken cover and starved the occupiers out.

The terrorists in Oregon are psychotic criminals.
